Beginner's Dress Making Course
Saturday 10th - Sunday 11th August
This two day sewing course will get any beginner seamstress ready to sew your own wardrobe. In this particular course participants will create their own A-line skirt which will cover:
-how to choose and prepare fabric for dressmaking
-using commercial patterns
-pattern markings and what they mean
-sewing seams and hems
-measuring and fitting garments
-adding a waistband
-inserting a zip
Although this is a project based course, the aim is to enable participants to feel confident and happy to go away and buy their own patterns and experiment at home, giving you the knowledge needed to choose the right pattern and fabric for you.
Including all materials and refreshments; please do come along and choose your fabric ahead of the course as it will need to be pre-washed ahead of sewing.
Bring along your own machine or please include in your comments if you would like to borrow ours.
(we have a limited number of machines to use so do let us know)
Please feel free to bring a packed lunch or visit the café onsite.
